Delicious award-winning gourmet salsas, savoury jams and pickles are the main products of the Spice Girlz, who
live and work in the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula, one of Australia's premier wine-growing areas.
Their story started after a particularly hot summer, when the
Spice Girlz had a surplus of chillis and basil, so,
being
passionate cooks who couldn't bear to see their hard
won produce going to waste, they started
making harissa,
chilli jams and pesto to sell at the market. Within a
few months, these products
were in greater demand than
the herbs, so they started to concentrate on cooking
instead of growing.
Jamato, Zulu-Lu, Moroccan Jam, Hakuna Matata, Saucy Tomato and Cor Blimey are now available
at selected retailers throughout the country, while an extended range is on sale at the Farmers'
Market held every Saturday in the historic town of Willunga in South Australia.
